About Oral B
Created and sold by Hutson toothbrush, Oral B is now a product of Procter and Gamble. The conglomerate purchased the toothbrush company in 2006. Oral B also sells toothpaste, mouthwashes, and dental floss as well as the electric toothbrushes they are famous for selling.
The toothbrush was designed in patented by a periodontitis in California. He also developed and filed for a patent for a mouthbrush. Obviously, this idea did not gain as much popularity as his first idea. You can’t win them all.
The doctor, Dr. Robert W. Hutson created the Oral B brand name. It became part of the Gillette group in 1984. Toothbrush maker Braun was also part of the Gillette group at the time. Braun started using the Oral B design for their brand during this time.
What does the B stand for in Oral B? Three guesses? Sorry, no time for guesses. It’s “brush.”
