About Star Tribune
The Star Tribune is the largest newspaper in Minnesota and is distributed throughout the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area, the state of Minnesota, and the Upper Midwest. The publication is headquartered in downtown Minneapolis. The paper contains five main sections: news, local news, sports, business, and lifestyle/entertainment. There are also individual weekly sections on restaurants and cooking, outdoors, travel, science and health, and the Sunday editions have a more substantial editorial and opinion section. On Wednesday there is an extra section focusing on local issues.
Star Tribune was initially known as the Minneapolis Tribune in 1867, and after merging with Minneapolis Star in 1982, the Star Tribune was born. Before the merge, Minneapolis Star and Minneapolis Tribune journalists won three Pulitzer Prizes in 1948 for National Reporting, in 1959 for Photography, and in 1968 for National Reporting. Star Tribune journalists have won three Pulitzer Prizes for Investigative Reporting in 1990, Editorial Cartooning in 2013, and Local Reporting in 2013.
