Initially run by David Reisberg, it was purchased in 1972 by Floridian Phillip Youtie with the grand ambition to spread this company and the gowns it offered worldwide. Sixteen years later, he owned a thriving franchise with over 18 locations under David’s Bridal name, and it was this time that a friend of Youtie joined forces with him to bring David’s Bridal to the rest of the nation.
The company would grow successfully based on Steven Erlbaum’s experience in national marketing.
