About DCU
In 1957 the Digital Equipment Corporation was founded in an old wool mill in an area around Maynard, Massachusetts. For the next 35 years, it would call this location home before it was bought out by Compaq before that company merging with Hewlett-Packard. In 1979 the Digital Equipment Corporation decided it was time to open a credit union to support its employees and certain sponsors in the community. To this day it remains open only to this select group of individuals.
Throughout that time DCU has been providing a broad range of banking services to its clients, including certificates of deposit, IRAs, savings and checking accounts, and a variety of loans. Every year more and more customers take advantage of the broad range of investment, insurance, and retirement options available through DCU.
