There are two retail locations. One is Portland, Oregon and the other in Seattle, Washington. Mountain Hardwear is sold in outdoor stores across the country.
Mountain Hardwear’s first sponsored athlete, Ed Viesturs, who was the first American to climb all 14 8,000 meter peaks, developed much of Mountain Hardwear’s products. He no longer endorses Mountain Hardwear equipment after Columbia purchased the company is 2003. The company has around 125 employees.
The company sells men’s and women’s sports apparel. They also sell packs, sleeping bags, and tents.
