About Woodforest

In September of 1980 the nations first Woodforest National Bank opened in Houston Texas with the goal of providing incredible customer service to those who were seeking a bank that worked to make a difference.  By 1996 they had expanded to have banks everywhere and began what would be a life-long partnership with Walmart Banks, opening their first instore branch that operated seven days a week in Conroe, Texas. 1999 saw them push the definition of convenience even further by opening an office that was open around the clock at their Louetta Walmart branch that is still in operation today.

By 2005 they had over 100 branches in operation and were celebrating their 25th year of providing exceptional banking experiences to their growing body of customers.  They were in a period of incredible growth at this time and saw their number of banks double from 100 in 2002 to 200 in 2006 with the opening of their branch in The Woodlands, Texas.  From this point forward Woodforest bank has only continued to grow, opening more offices throughout the US in more states.
