A Surgeon by the name of Frank J. Weed ran a surgical practice in Cleveland, and it was out of this practice that the present institution known as the Cleveland Clinic was born. Two of his assistants purchased the practice after he passed and brought in additional doctors to expand the services they could offer. These pioneers set out to create an incredible institution that has survived some of the world’s most trying times and even an explosion of gasses that claimed the lives of 123 people in 1929. From that point forward, they’ve stood as an incredible institute of medicine that has served their community with distinction and has been instrumental in developing new techniques and medical care practices throughout the year.
